SICKLE CELL PROGRAM

In June 2024, NHF is proud to launch our Sickle Cell Awareness Program, designed to significantly enhance our support and services in the US and Nigeria. Our goals for this program are clear and targeted:

1. Resource Allocation: We aim to equip the community with essential resources and support systems to effectively manage SCD.

2. Cultural Sensitivity: Recognizing the cultural nuances of SCD, our program is dedicated to providing healthcare services that respect the cultural beliefs and practices of Nigerians.

3. Bridging Gaps: There is a critical need for specialized services for those affected by SCD in our community

4. Community Engagement: By fostering stronger community ties and enhancing support networks, we aim to raise greater awareness about SCD and the resources available for management and care.

5. Reducing Burden: Ultimately, our program strives to reduce the health and social burdens of SCD within the Nigerian-American community.
